A very special mouse

Pluto

Not much is known about this special mouse other than it was a special project of Mr Paul Swarovski and 335 pieces were produced. It is believed that it was a gift given to some European retailers in or around 2006.

It does bear the Swarovski swan logo, but it doesn’t appear to have ever been given an official Swarovski part number or system number.

Because information surrounding the piece is very sketchy, we did wonder whether it started life as an experimental piece – the introduction date is around about the time the first Lovlot collection was produced (the Pioneer collection). It could be, perhaps a piece which was suggested as the first of a new range under development, but it never made it to full production. I guess we’ll never know!

The mouse has silver whiskers and black ears.  The black tail resembles a round shoe lace.  The face and back end are polished, not faceted like most Swarovski figurines. The mouse is approximately 2.5” (6.35cm) long x 1.75” (4.45cm) wide x 1.25” (3.2 cm) high, this mouse is of the rarest items in the Swarovski range.
