Tinkerbell red dress / santa

Today we’re discussing Swarovski’s stunning “Lady in Red” – the beautiful Tinkerbell from 2012, known as Christmas Tinkerbell, Santa Tinkerbell or Red Dress Tinkerbell! Towards the end of 2012, we started to hear rumours about a special Tinkerbell which was only going to be released exclusively in the USA marketplace. We are not entirely sure what happened, but we wonder if Swarovski primary market retailers in other parts of the world asked if they could also sell the piece. Anyway, whatever happened, it worked and while there were very limited quantities, it is generally believed that 1,800 went to Europe (country specific figures not available), 800 to Canada and 3,000 to USA. Again, based on sketchy evidence, we believe that Swarovski stores were allocated one or occasionally 2 each in the UK. Of course, they were sold the moment they were unpacked! No independent retailers were allocated the piece. Despite a real affection for the 2008 Tinkerbell, this is our favourite Tinkerbell at The Crystal Lodge! The original Swarovski write-up for her describes her as follows: “The beloved Tinkerbell brings holiday joy and festivity in her vibrant Mrs. Claus inspired Light Siam dress and hat both with lovely trim in Platinum White crystal. Her wings shimmer in Crystal Aurore Boreale while she holds her iconic wand in silver-toned metal with a crystal accent at the top, also in Crystal Aurore Boreale.”
